MDC President Advocate Nelson Chamisa has joined the “Sanctions Must Go” chorus led by President ED Mnangagwa.
The MDC party has always been accused of calling for sanctions against Zimbabwe. The party founder was accused of lobbying for these sanctions as a way of putting the necessary pressure on Zanu Pf to implement change.
Proffesor Arthur Mutambara became one of the first to publicly call for the removal of these sanctions citing that they where no longer serving their purpose.
Nelson Chamisa was at one time quoted saying that sanctions particularly the ZIDERA law, reflects the aspirations of the people. However, it seems like the MDC leader has given in to the pressure of Zanu Pf activists demanding him to call for their removal.
Nelson Chamisa is quoted issuing a statement to the effect that sanctions must go.
