Panic gripped Polokwane on Tuesday after a social media post went viral.
The viral post alleged that a group of Zulu man had came to Polokwane addressing locals and inciting them to attack foreign nationals.
Many foreign nationals were on edge trying to find out what was happening.
It was later clarified that there has been no such Zulu group that came to Polokwane, it was all just a hoax!
Such hoaxes are normally spread by mischievous social media users but can have devastating effects in a crisis situation as some people can take these fake messages as gospel truth.
