
Norman Mapeza Appointed Head Coach of Scottland FC27 November 2025Norman Mapeza has been named the new head coach of Scottland FC, the ambitious Harare-based club that won the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title in its inaugural season.
The 53-year-old tactician, widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s most successful modern coaches, takes over from Tonderai Ndiraya, who led Scottland to the championship earlier this year. Mapeza parted ways with FC Platinum just days ago and has been immediately installed at the club backed by businessman Scott Sakupwanya and benefactor Wicknell Chivayo.
Mapeza brings a proven winning pedigree. During his time at FC Platinum, he delivered multiple league titles, including four consecutive championships between 2017 and 2020, and guided the team into the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
He has also served as interim coach of the Zimbabwe national team, the Warriors, on several occasions.Scottland FC has made headlines with its aggressive recruitment of top Zimbabwean talent, including Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona. Mapeza’s arrival is seen as a statement of intent as the club prepares to defend its title and compete in continental football.
