New SRC Board Members

The board, appointed by the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Honourable Lt. Gen. (Rtd) A.N. Sanyatwe, is an eight-member board with a four-year term running from July 2025 to July 2029.

The eight board members are:

  • Dr. Nathaniel Madzivanyika (Board Chairperson)
    • Biography: A respected educationist and sports administrator, Dr. Madzivanyika is known for his dedication to talent development, integrity, and corporate governance. With decades of experience, he has been instrumental in nurturing athletes from grassroots to elite levels. He is the Founder and Responsible Authority of Pinewood High and Junior School in Harare and served as General Manager for Harare Province at both the National Youth Games and the Paralympic Games since 2009. His role as Chairperson of the ZRP Harare Provincial Crime Liaison Committee since 2008 has reinforced his belief in the power of sport to combat social ills and promote positive lifestyles. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Stafford University, an Executive MBA from Midlands State University, and is pursuing an LLM with Salford University.
  • Shingai J. Rhuhwaya (Board Vice Chairperson)
    • Biography: A seasoned growth strategist with over 20 years of experience driving revenue growth, market expansion, and business development across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. As Founder and Managing Director of Good & Co, she leads initiatives that connect high-impact ventures with strategic capital. She has delivered transformative market strategies for organizations including British American Tobacco, Zimbabwe Cricket, Access Finance, and Metsbank. She was instrumental in Zimbabwe’s successful international campaign to regain Test Cricket status in 2010 and pioneered BAT’s sustainability initiatives in the region. She was named Silver Outstanding CMO in 2024 by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network and was recently profiled on CNN. She holds a BCom in Finance from the National University of Science & Technology, a Diploma in International Business Administration from Germany, and a Diploma in International Relations and Contemporary Diplomacy from the Institute of Diplomacy.
  • Givemore Madzoka (Board Member)
    • Biography: A registered legal practitioner with experience in constitutional law, administrative law, and commercial litigation. He is deeply committed to ethical business practices, good governance, and sound administration. He has served as a member of the ZIFA Club Licensing Appeals Committee and has participated in high-level corporate disciplinary hearings. Currently, he is a member of the Advocates Chambers Association. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Zimbabwe.
  • Hlengiwe Dube (Board Member)
    • Biography: A strategist with extensive experience in corporate management, institutional capacity development, and Defence Research. A Colonel in the Zimbabwe National Army, she has served as a Training and Sports Officer at Zimbabwe Military Academy, a tutor and Residential Sports Administrator at Monash University in South Africa, a lecturer at Zimbabwe Staff College, and a Commanding Officer at 53 Infantry Battalion. Her academic background is multidisciplinary. She holds a Master of Management from the Southern School of Business, a Master of International Studies from the Zimbabwe Defence University, a Master of Philosophy in Integrated Water Management from Monash University (South Africa), a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) from Monash University. She also holds a Diploma in War and Strategic Studies and a Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management.
  • Gwinyai Tamuka Mharapara (Board Member)
    • Biography: A legal practitioner with a keen interest in emerging areas of law, focusing on unlocking value in transactions by providing comprehensive regulatory solutions and facilitating access to venture capital. He has vast and extensive experience in corporate contract drafting, due diligence, and statutory compliance. He is the Vice Chairman of Let Them Trust, a trust championing the holistic development of youths through art form and expression. Gwinyai holds an LLB from the University of Botswana and a Diploma in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Plater College, Oxford.
  • David Simba (Board Member)
    • Biography: A marketing and communications professional with proven expertise in sports marketing, publicity, and brand management. He is currently the Operations Manager at the Maropita Group, with interests spanning solar, publishing, and human resources training. David has been actively involved in regional and continental sports marketing, managing publicity and marketing for Team Zimbabwe at the 2016 African Games. He played a key role as Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee of the AUSC Region 5 Youth Games in Bulawayo in 2014 and has also managed communications for COSAFA, the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5, and the SRC Bulawayo Metropolitan Sports Management Board. As a player, David won the Matabeleland Open Tennis Tournament in 1983. He holds marketing qualifications from the Institute of Marketing Management and the University of South Africa (UNISA).
  • Lilian Ndandatsei Silby Chikara (Board Member)
    • Biography: An accomplished development practitioner with more than 35 years of experience in health, sports, gender and community development. Her expertise spans governance, program management, disability inclusion, gender mainstreaming, SRHR, child protection, advocacy, and livelihoods programming. She has transitioned from general development work into sports administration, becoming the National Director of Special Olympics Zimbabwe in 2021. Under her leadership, the organization has grown into a competitive institution, successfully participating in Special Olympics World Games, regional, and other international tournaments. She is a passionate advocate for women leadership, disability inclusion and safeguarding vulnerable groups in sport. Lilian holds an MSc in Development Studies from the Women’s University in Africa, a BA in Development Studies from the University of South Africa (UNISA), and a diploma in Adult Education from the University of Zimbabwe. She also holds diplomas in general nursing, community health, and midwifery from institutions in Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.
  • Valentine Siabenzu Mudenda (Board Member)
    • Biography: A dynamic corporate leader with more than a decade of senior management experience, driving strategic initiatives that foster growth, efficiency, and organizational resilience. He has expertise in business strategy, team performance, and customer service excellence. He has been in the hunting and photographic industry since 2005. He is the Managing Director of Twende Travel and Sunjet Development Holdings. Commissioner Mudenda has professional experience in both Zimbabwe and Australia. He is the son of the late Commissioner M S M Mudenda. A highly passionate sports person and enthusiast, he has provincial-level playing experience in cricket and hockey and has contributed to grassroots development as a junior cricket coordinator in Matabeleland Province. He is currently a sport and recreation practitioner and has been involved in several sport and recreation programs in the country in general and his home area in particular. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Executive Administration) Diploma in Business Management and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, both from Holmesglen Institute of TAFE in Melbourne, Australia.
