A recent X thread by commentator Majaira Jairo has ignited fresh speculation. As the 8th anniversary of the 2017 military coup looms, Jairo’s posts dissect President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s (ED) cryptic moves— from eyeing a COP30 trip abroad amid a thinning inner circle to resurfacing rifts with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.
What does it all mean for ZANU-PF’s fragile unity? Let’s break it down:
1. I hear Fulton Mangwanya has advised @edmnangagwa to abandon going to COP30, which will take place in Belém, Brazil from 10 – 21 November 2025. ED was meant to go with @wicknellchivayo& his sons to this annual United Nations climate summit. There is growing tension politically.
2. COP30 coincides with the 8th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s military coup which removed Robert Mugabe. Mugabe was ousted in November 2017 the same month as this year’s COP30. Most of ED’s criminal squad have booked time away, abroad, should Mnangagwa decide to go against advice.
To ourÂ
@ZANUPF_Official members, now that Pres Mnangagwa has confirmed elections in 2028, which he is not going to be a candidate as his 2terms come to an end, let us all rally behind VP Chiwenga. Endorse him, in our coming congress in Mutare for a stronger party devoid of crooks
