Prominent journalist and filmmaker Hopewell Chin’ono has praised Nyaradzo Group for its remarkable growth and expansion beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, describing the company as a source of national pride and a shining example of visionary leadership.

Writing after attending the memorial service of Dr. Remmy Makumbe in Johannesburg, Chin’ono said he was reminded of how Zimbabweans continue to excel globally. He highlighted Nyaradzo’s presence and impact, noting that the company has gone beyond being just a business to becoming an integral part of the Zimbabwean community worldwide.

“Nyaradzo is one of those businesses that fills me with pride, establishing itself in different countries, excelling, and often providing services even at a loss because it understands that it is no longer just a business but part of the Zimbabwean community,” he wrote.

Chin’ono added that Nyaradzo’s journey was particularly inspiring as it demonstrated how visionary leadership and resilience could transform a company founded from scratch into an international brand.

He contrasted Nyaradzo’s success with the struggles faced by older insurance companies, stressing that leadership is the defining factor in business growth and sustainability.

“Congratulations to Nyaradzo for this remarkable expansion, which any sensible Zimbabwean should celebrate. To witness a black man build a company from scratch into what it has become today is truly inspiring,” he said.

Nyaradzo, founded by Philip Mataranyika, has grown from a funeral services provider into a diversified group with operations across multiple countries, symbolising Zimbabwean ingenuity and determination.
