Musician Holy Ten (Mukudzei Chitsama) went on Instagram Live where he accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s twin sons, Sean and Collins, of evicting him from a house they had bought for him and repossessing other gifts previously given to him.
Holy Ten claimed that Sean Mnangagwa, who is a major in the Zimbabwe National Army, sent soldiers to his home to enforce the eviction, and also instructed Holy Ten’s wife to vacate the property. He expressed strong anger and threatened retaliation, saying, “Sean, what you did at my house, I’m coming to your house. Make sure you kill me. I’m not afraid of Zanu PF, all of you.”
He also claimed that he had joined Zanu PF with the aim of cleaning President Mnangagwa’s image but felt betrayed by the president’s sons. Holy Ten said, “I joined Zanu PF because I was trying to clean the reputation, the image of Zanu PF. What you did, boys, I can finish all of you off. I can end the Zanu PF today. I’m bigger than the Zanu PF.” Despite his anger at the twins, he stated he still respects President Mnangagwa but accused Sean and Collins of undermining the president’s image and legacy.
Further, Holy Ten challenged Collins Mnangagwa to go live on social media to see how many people would support him, hinting Collins was overrated in popularity. Holy Ten threatened to confront them directly, asserting, “I know where Collins lives, don’t worry. We are fixing the country, they shouldn’t mess with me.” He also proclaimed he was not afraid and distinguished himself from other public figures by saying “I’m not Blessed Geza.”
His emotional tirade sparked widespread debate and concern on social media, with some mocking his sudden change of loyalty towards Zanu PF and others worried for his safety given the political power of the individuals involved. After this outburst, Holy Ten deactivated his Instagram account but later restored it and issued an apology to Sean and Collins Mnangagwa.
The specific reasons for the fallout and repossession of gifts, including the house, were not clearly detailed publicly, and the Mnangagwa family has not issued a response to Holy Ten’s allegations. Holy Ten’s actions have put him at odds with the ruling elite he once supported and could escalate tensions politically or personally.
