The presence of Attorney-General Virginia Mabhiza in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vatican entourage has triggered a storm of questions over transparency, priorities, and respect for taxpayers.
When pressed, presidential spokesperson George Charamba attempted to justify her inclusion by saying: “Attorney General Virginia Mabhiza is Catholic.”
But critics dismissed the explanation as childish and disrespectful.

“Are we supposed to believe she went just because she is Catholic? We are not kids respect us!” one citizen fumed.
The controversy escalated further, with some Zimbabweans drawing comparisons to the late former President Robert Mugabe.
“For all his faults, Mugabe never paraded girlfriends or questionable figures as part of his delegations. This is embarrassing,” one social media post read.
