A fiery open letter has been directed at Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander, General Valerio Sibanda, accusing him of turning a blind eye while innocent citizens are terrorised by what critics describe as “criminal gangs” shielded by the state.
The letter, which has gone viral on social media, takes aim at the silence of the country’s top military boss following the bombing of opposition figure Job Sikhala’s St Mary’s home over the weekend. Sikhala’s children survived the attack, but no arrests have been made.
“Dear Gen Valerio Sibanda, why are you quiet when innocent citizens are being terrorised by criminal gangs? Is this the Zimbabwe our parents died for?” the statement reads, tagging @PoliceZimbabwe, @JobSikhala1, and @edmnangagwa.

The open letter closes with a defiant warning: “Zvichapera soon 📍.”
The strongly worded message reflects mounting frustration among citizens who accuse the security sector of failing to protect ordinary people from politically motivated violence.
