Businessman and ZANU PF benefactor Wicknel Chivhayo has once again made a high-profile donation, this time gifting top leaders of the Johanne Masowe Chishanu Church vehicles and cash in recognition of their role in mobilizing support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In a lengthy statement posted online, Chivhayo described his decision to join Johanne Masowe as one of the most important of his life, praising the church for promoting love, compassion, and national development while consistently praying for the country’s leadership.

“At Masowe, we constantly pray for our President, His Excellency E.D. Mnangagwa, and for his administration… This has always been one of the cornerstones of our faith, and it reinforces why supporting leadership through prayer and action is fundamentally important,” Chivhayo said.

The businessman singled out Madzibaba Moses of Gwanzura Highfields and Madzibaba Owen of Chitungwiza Velvet branch for their role in spearheading the Vapostori for ED (V.E.D.) movement during the 2023 elections, crediting them with mobilizing “hundreds of thousands of believers” in support of Mnangagwa and ZANU PF.

As a reward for their “exceptional service, sacrifice and devotion,” Chivhayo announced that both leaders will each receive a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 2.8 GD6 and USD50,000 in cash.

Additionally, their assistant Madzibaba Forbes Chikobvu from Gwanzura will receive a Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6, while each leader has been instructed to select five loyal church members who will also be given vehicles  including Toyota Hilux pickups and Toyota Aqua cars  courtesy of Chivhayo’s associate, Madzibaba Chipaga.

The gesture adds to Chivhayo’s growing reputation for high-profile philanthropy, particularly towards religious groups that openly support the ruling party.
