Notes
Alois Bunjira, a former Zimbabwe Warriors and CAPS United football legend, who currently serves as CAPS United’s marketing manager, was involved in a serious car accident on Saturday, August 16, 2025, around 10 a.m. near St. Faith’s High School, approximately 8 km from Rusape along the Rusape-Nyanga Road. He was traveling to his rural home in Honde Valley for route certification for the Honde Valley Marathon. Bunjira sustained injuries and was rushed to Rusape General Hospital for treatment. Reports indicate the crash was fatal, with two people in an Isuzu pickup truck losing their lives after a head-on collision with Bunjira’s BMW. Bunjira is reportedly stable and receiving medical attention, though the identities of the deceased have not been confirmed.
