Opposition activist Promise Mkwananzi has expressed deep sorrow following the death of prominent Ruwa businessman Joseph Mutangadura, popularly known as Mutangaz.

In a condolence message, Mkwananzi wrote “I am writing to express my profound sorrow upon learning of the passing of Joseph Mutangadura, also known as Mutangaz. Although I did not have the pleasure of a personal relationship, I was a consistent patron of his esteemed products. We extend our heartfelt condolences and wish him eternal peace. This unfortunate event underscores the rising criminal activity within our nation, which has traditionally been known for its safety and security. My most recent purchase was on August 8, 2025. It is our hope that his business and legacy will continue to thrive.”

Mutangadura, who owned Lisheen Estate, Mutangadura Hideout, and several butcheries, was shot dead by suspected robbers at his Lisheen Estate farmhouse shortly after midnight.

Police confirmed that investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
