Controversial cleric Prophet Passion Java has withdrawn cyber bullying charges against Zimdancehall artiste and socialite Millicent Tsitsi Chimonyo, popularly known as Malloti, just hours before she was due to appear in court.

Malloti, who is heavily pregnant and reportedly due for delivery this week through inducement due to complications, had spent two nights in custody at Machipisa Police Station following her arrest earlier this week.

The charges stemmed from allegations that she bullied Prophet Java on social media in June. Her lawyer, Dumisani Mthombeni, previously expressed concern over her health and the risk her detention posed to both her and her unborn child.

“Client says she was not told of the reason for arrest until the following morning,” Mthombeni told reporters earlier. “She was very worried about her health and that of her baby.”

With the charges are set to be withdrawn in court, Malloti still in custody. The court will decide to grant bail or not.
