Presidential spokesperson George Charamba has weighed in on journalist Blessed Mhlanga’s public complaint about failing law exams, suggesting that the matter should have been handled through university channels rather than on social media.
Mhlanga had posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he had failed Constitutional Law and Criminal Law exams after being unable to sit for them due to being jailed.
He claimed he had made attempts to write the papers from prison but was denied, calling it “the effects of persecution” and lamenting that he now had to pay more fees to retake the courses.
Charamba replied with a pointed and sarcastic message in Shona“But mukwambo!!!! The University has procedures both for deferring exam sittings and raising complaints. None of these includes social media. Apa uri kutambira kumaP chete!!!!”

Blessed Mhlanga had appealed to sit for his exam which was denied whilst he was in remand prison.
