Prominent political commentator Cucsman has sparked debate on social media after posting a scathing critique of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and those portraying him as a crusader against corruption.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Cucsman rebuked what he sees as growing public support for Chiwenga’s perceived reformist stance. He argued that Chiwenga, long entrenched in the ZANU-PF establishment, cannot be considered a legitimate force against corruption.
“Funny how some of you called me names and even blocked me when I said Blessed Geza was useless. Now you’re busy cheerleading for VP Chiwenga like he’s Zimbabwe’s anti-corruption messiah,” he wrote.
Cucsman went on to describe the Vice President as “part and parcel of the same corrupt ZANU-PF system that has bled this country dry,” warning supporters not to fall for “PR stunts or strategic silence.”
He questioned the effectiveness of any anti-corruption rhetoric coming from someone still embedded in the political elite, asking “If he genuinely hates corruption, why hasn’t he used his position to uproot the rot? Why are the same looters still in power?”
Cucsman’s criticism is rooted in the belief that no faction within the ruling party can truly claim moral high ground, describing ZANU-PF as a “poisonous tree with different branches.”
