Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has accused the Zimbabwean government of misallocating resources, claiming that more money is being spent on efforts to undermine him than on critical national development priorities.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Chamisa said millions have been “invested, wasted and pumped” into attempts to “destroy” him, instead of being channelled into essential ministries and services that benefit citizens.
“So much money has been invested, wasted and pumped into destroying one individual (this nc), but then it didn’t work, it’s not working and it will not work,” Chamisa wrote.
He alleged that vehicles, cash, and other state resources have been deployed in an orchestrated attempt to neutralise him politically. He further claimed that shadowy organisations such as the Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) are being heavily funded to manipulate the electoral environment.
“More money has been allocated to destroy than to build,” he added. “Even more money is set aside just to decimate one person, than is allocated to certain key ministries and essential priorities.”
Chamisa also questioned how much funding has been channelled to what he described as “spooky and nefarious organisations” like FAZ, and to “hatchet jobs and wicked schemes” aimed at manipulating elections and suppressing dissent.
