At the recently held Alliance for Progressives (AP) Congress in Serowe, party leader and Botswana  President Duma Boko issued a stern warning to party members, cautioning them against the creeping dangers of entitlement, arrogance, laziness, and complacency.

In a pointed address, Boko emphasized that these traits pose a direct threat to the party’s progress and credibility, especially after the hard-won gains they’ve made.

He called on members to remain vigilant, humble, and grounded in the party’s founding values, adding that the work of transforming Botswana is far from over.

Boko painted a grim picture of the state of the country inherited by the AP, stating “If Botswana were a company, it would have been insolvent  on the verge of liquidation.”

This striking analogy underscored the magnitude of the economic and social crisis the nation faces, according to Boko. He emphasized the need for discipline, accountability, and strong leadership to reverse the country’s decline and rebuild institutions.
