Prominent businessman and ZANU PF figure Scott Sakupwanya has donated US$30,000 to support Jadel Football Academy (JFA) as they embark on a five-week international tour in China, representing Zimbabwe in two global youth football competitions.
Sakupwanya’s contribution was complemented by Paul Tungwarara, another businessman and philanthropist, who pledged US$10,000 through his Prevail Group of Companies.
The academy departed for China yesterday, where they will compete in prestigious international youth tournaments that attract teams from across the globe. This marks JFA’s second appearance, after impressing in the 100-Team Cup in Beijing last year.
JFA founder and director Walter “Ringers” Musanhu expressed deep gratitude to both donors and the broader corporate community rallying behind the academy.
“We’ve been determined from Day One, and last year we flew the Zimbabwean flag high. The world took notice,” said Musanhu. “To see respected businessmen like Scott Sakupwanya and Paul Tungwarara backing us this year is truly heartening.”
Musanhu also acknowledged contributions from Desmond Ali, Ezulwini Lodges, and other well-wishers who have supported the initiative financially and logistically.
“JFA is more than just an academy it’s a movement aimed at grooming the next generation of Warriors. Our dream is to see these boys qualify for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. That’s why we scout and develop talent from all corners of Zimbabwe,” he added.
The team will be coached in China by a seasoned technical team, including former Warriors stars Stanford “Stix” Mutizwa and Tichaona Diya, bringing valuable experience to the young players.
