The bail ruling for former Minister of Foreign Affairs Walter Mzembi has been postponed after Harare Regional Magistrate Donald Ndirowei failed to appear in court on the scheduled date.

Mzembi, who is facing fresh charges linked to abuse of office and criminal conduct during his time in government, was expecting a bail decision today. However, court officials announced that Magistrate Ndirowei was not present, leading to a delay in the legal proceedings.

The court has since rescheduled the ruling to 14 July, extending Mzembi’s time in legal limbo.

Legal observers and supporters expressed frustration at the postponement, citing concerns over judicial delays in high-profile cases.

Mzembi’s legal team is expected to return to court on the new date to continue seeking his release pending trial.
