President Emmerson Mnangagwa has officially bid farewell to the outgoing Spanish Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Natividad Isabel Peña Bonilla, during a courtesy call at State House.
In a statement posted on his official channels, President Mnangagwa praised the growing cooperation between Zimbabwe and Spain, particularly in the sectors of tourism and agriculture, two pillars of Zimbabwe’s economic revival strategy.
“We reflected on the growing cooperation between our two nations,” the President said, highlighting progress made during Ambassador Bonilla’s three-year diplomatic tenure.
The President expressed gratitude for Spain’s engagement with Zimbabwe and extended his best wishes to Ambassador Bonilla as she concludes her mission.
The departure of the Spanish envoy comes at a time when Zimbabwe is actively strengthening diplomatic and economic relations with European nations, as part of its “Engagement and Re-engagement” policy.
