The President of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed seven new governors. Netumbo said she is appointing the seven governors on top of the seven that she appointed earlier this year.

Netumbo has immediately called for an induction to be attended by all fourteen regional governors starting tomorrow. All the fourteen outgoing governors are also invited to attend the induction.

The seven new governors for seven Namibian regions are:

  1. Kadiva Hamutuma (Hanguena)
  2. Hoffni Ping (Ashana)
  3. Natalyia Kohases (Arango)
  4. Dorothy Kabula (Zambzi)
  5. David Karter (Karas
  6. Emmanuel Shukongo (Musati).
  7. The seventh governor who was retained is Pijoo Nganate, the governor of Omaheke region. His contract was extended by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah beyond the initial term expiry, unlike the six new governors appointed for other regions

I should remind you that I have chosen you out of millions of Namibians who are equally capable of performing the functions of governors. This is because positions are limited…It is your duty to fight corruption….
