In a move aimed at safeguarding consumer rights, Norton legislator Richard Tsvangirai Jnr revealed in Parliament on Tuesday that he will table a motion this Thursday addressing the controversial practice by banks and mobile money operators of deducting funds from customers simply for checking their account balances.
During the parliamentary session, Tsvangirai expressed concern over the growing trend among financial institutions to impose charges on customers for routine account inquiries.
