City of Harare officials have been accused of embezzling millions of dollars in billboard rental fees, with the funds reportedly not being remitted to the council treasury.
The serious allegations were made by Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume in an interview with ZiFM stereo.
Mayor Mafume stated that a significant amount of revenue generated from billboard rentals within the city is being siphoned off by corrupt officials, effectively robbing the council of much-needed funds.
