In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through Johannesburg and beyond, Moreboys Munetsi, a dedicated activist and lawyer, is stepping in to provide crucial assistance to the family of Emmanuel Mahamba, a Zimbabwean man whose brutal murder has ignited outrage within the community.
On April 5, 2025, Mahamba’s life was tragically cut short in Rivonia, Sandton, when he was repeatedly run over by a Ford Ranger during a heated dispute.
A graphic video of the incident, which has since circulated widely on social media, shows the horrifying scene as Mahamba sat helplessly on the road before the vehicle drove over him multiple times, leading to his untimely death at the scene.
The Gauteng police are currently investigating the incident and actively searching for the motorist responsible for Mahamba’s death.
The circumstances surrounding the altercation leading to the incident are still under scrutiny, leaving many questions unanswered and the community seeking justice.
Moreboys Munetsi is using his legal expertise to support Mahamba’s grieving family.
“For now, I am giving the family legal support,” Munetsi stated. “We are also mobilizing the Zimbabwean community here in Johannesburg to help raise funeral funds through contributions. It’s essential that we come together to support one another during such a difficult time.”
