In a significant development within Zimbabwean football, two prominent administrators, former Highlanders Football Club Chief Executive Officer Brian Moyo and Bulawayo Chiefs FC official Andrew Mandigora, have been released on bail following serious allegations of fraud connected to inflated player transfer fees.
The Bulawayo Magistrates Court granted the pair bail of US$200 each during a hearing on Saturday, with stipulations that they report to police weekly, refrain from interfering with potential witnesses, and maintain their current residences while the investigation proceeds.
Prosecutors allege that both Moyo and Mandigora were involved in a scheme that involved artificially inflating the fees associated with player transfers, raising concerns about financial integrity within the sport.
