ZIFA President, Nqobile Magwizi, praised Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe for its partnership with the community in refurbishing the Gibbo stadium in Chiredzi.
The renovation works, which were completed in just two months, included the construction of new changing rooms, a tunnel, and ablution facilities.
The stadium now meets the required standards set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
Magwizi noted that the partnership between ZIFA and the corporate sector is crucial for the growth of the country’s sports industry.
“We have five pillars that we are advancing as an executive committee of ZIFA, and one of them is building strong partnerships with the corporate sector,” he said. “Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe has already committed to two of these pillars by partnering with us in building infrastructure and technology.”
