The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has expressed its deepest sympathies to Warriors midfielder Andy Rinomhota, following the sudden and tragic passing of his brother, Joseph Itai Rinomhota.
Joseph, 30, succumbed to injuries sustained during a Muay Thai boxing match on the Thai island of Koh Samui, collapsing just minutes after exiting the ring on Friday, March 28.
In a statement released on social media, ZIFA acknowledged the profound pain of losing a loved one and assured Rinomhota of their support during this difficult time.
The football governing body encouraged Rinomhota to find strength in the love and support of his family, friends, and the football community, saying, “May the cherished memories of his brother bring him comfort, and may he find peace in knowing that he is not alone in his grief.”
Cardiff City, Rinomhota’s current club, also extended their condolences to the midfielder and his family.
