Former Finance Minister Tendai Biti has announced that he is currently engaging with other politicians to defend constitution from mutilation.

“at the moment ,I am in conversation with Zimbabweans across all political divides about these attempts to mutilate the constitution…,” he said

He stated that it was important to form a platform to defend the constitution as the National Constitution Assembly a platform used to defend the constitution was now a thing of the past.

He said that a forum to defend the constitution was important and needed so that people do not abuse the constitution and do whatever they deem right but should be held accountable by the constitution.

The former finance minister’s statement has been welcomed by many Zimbabweans, like Hopewell who state that it was time Zimbabwe had a strong opposition that acts more than tweet.

“This is what Zimbabwe needs—not just tweeting and posting useless stuff while we are being barbecued by corrupt and incompetent leaders,” he said.
