As Kirsty Convetry embarks on her journey as the IOC president she has announced her resignation as the Minister of Sports, Recreation ,Arts and Culture.
During a press conference on Friday Kirsty made this announcement.
She stated that she had to put all her attention and dedication to the newly acquired top seat.
“There is no way I will do both,” she said.
Kirsty revealed that she had to talk with the president first before the resignation is official .
“I need to sit down with my President, but everyone has been incredibly supportive of my campaign and I believe they will be mixed feelings , a bit of sadness but also pride,”she stated.
Convetry is known as the ‘Golden girl’ as she secured 2 gold medals, 4silver medals and 1 bronze medal .
She made a name for herself, a name to remember.
