In response to a notification from citizens regarding a planned peaceful demonstration, Stephen Mutamba has released a statement emphasizing the importance of following rightful channels.

He also reveals that the notification was misdirected as the notice was supposed to be directed to Joint operation command(JOC).

In his statement, Mutamba highlighted the laws governing demonstrations, outlining the necessary channels and procedures that must be followed to ensure a peaceful and lawful gathering.

“the legislature, in it’s wisdom, through Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (MOPA) (Chapter 11:53), excludes my office from regulating public gatherings and demonstrations. In fact MOPA clearly outlines how these rights must be exercised.

Mutamba’s response aims to provide clarity on the legal requirements for demonstrations, ensuring that citizens are aware of their rights and responsibilities.

This response comes after Geza warned Mutamba’s force from detaining anyone on the proposed uprising as it will be in violation of the constitution and will lead to his arrest.
