In a display of unwavering loyalty, thousands of followers of controversial prophet Shepherd Bushiri took to the streets of Malawi  to protest against a recent ruling to extradite him to South Africa.

The march, which drew massive crowds from Nsanje to Chitipa and Lilongwe.

“We are a grouping of concerned Malawian who have mobilized ourselves to stand with prophet Bushiri and his wife ..,” one protestor said.

This is a testament to the devotion of Bushiri’s supporters, who remain resolute in their backing of the embattled prophet.

The demonstration comes on the heels of a Malawian court’s decision to allow Bushiri’s extradition to South Africa, where he faces charges of fraud, money laundering, and corruption.

Bushiri, who is the leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church, has denied the allegations and claims they are part of a conspiracy to tarnish his reputation.
