Notes

As reported earlier on this page the allegation that Nelson Chamisa had business dealings with Gushungo Dairies were dismissed and refuted by Nelson Chamisa to me, declaring that he has never in his life owned a truck, “even a MAZDA B1600”, let alone haulage trucks.
This position has been confirmed by two people from the former First Family, plus another high-ranking person who was intimately close to President Mugabe soon after his forced resignation.
While agreeing that there was mutual admiration between President Robert Mugabe and Nelson Chamisa during and after the lifespan of the GNU, the three people explained to me how Douglas Mwonzora and his Campaign Team for the MDC-T SG position in 2014 picked on a malicious story reportedly started by Tendai Biti before he left the MDC-T with Elton Steers Mangoma.
Nelson Chamisa also told me that the whole rumour was started by his rivals within the MDC-T, and that he had chosen to ignore it at the time. He said he had however approached Chalton Hwende and asked him to clarify the matter, but the later did not do so at the time.
Hwende has since taken to social media to clarify the matter.
It is reported that because of personal differences with Chamisa, Biti had started the story that Nelson Chamisaa was a co-director with Chalton Hwende Secretary General in a transport company called Twinsday Pty Ltd, not “Twinsdale Pty Ltd”, as stated in receipts widely circulated on social media as evidence of the business transactions between GUSHUNGO DAIRIES and the said Chamisa/Hwende owned company.
The Mwonzora campaign team used the story to discredit Chamisa in the race for the SG post, it is alleged, and with the support and help of Morgan Tsvangirai, Mwonzora won the post.
Part of the reason Tsvangirai wanted Chamisa to lose was the reported cozy relations between Chamisa and Mugabe, added to curtailing Chamisa’s obvious fast-growing ambitions.
This writer can put it on record that the receipts purported to be between Gushungo Dairies and Twinsdale Pty Ltd, if authentic, have nothing to do with either Chalton Hwende or Nelson Chamisa, or Twinsday Pty Ltd, a truck company owned by Chalton Hwende.
I did mention in my post on the matter, that Nelson Chamisa had vehemently denied this story, although the story itself was not part of the story I had published. He cited as an example of how some stories have allegedly been fabricated to tarnish his name.
We continue to make inquiries with all interested parties, and if there are any more matters of fact, we will continue to publish the corrections.
Alfred Mavendzenge in his analysis of whether or not Nelson Chamisa is a captured opposition leader cites the Gushungo DAIRIES business links.
Neither Hwende nor Chamisa bothered to correct the narrative at the time, most likely because it was coming from within the MDC-T, and responding would give the ZANU-PF camp a propaganda swoop. Or they simply enjoyed the falsehoods.
