The government of Zimbabwe has announced the appointment of Dr. Fulton Mangwanya as the new Director Generalin the President’s department , Professor Edson Gandiwa had been appointed as the Director General of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks).
Professor Gandiwa brings over two decades of experience in wildlife conservation and management, having previously held several prominent positions in the field.
Most recently, he served as Director Scientific Services at ZimParks, where he played a pivotal role in advancing research and policy initiatives aimed at protecting the country’s rich biodiversity.
Dr. Mangwanya holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Ecological and Conservation Management from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He also earned a Master of Science in Ecology and Conservation from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe.
