The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is currently investigating Nqobile Magwizi, following serious allegations of using political influence and engaging in vote-buying during the recent presidential election.

The investigation was initiated after a formal complaint was lodged, detailing instances of alleged malpractice that undermine the integrity of football governance in Zimbabwe. According to sources, the complaints highlight not only unethical practices but also potential violations of FIFA standards.

ZIFA has confirmed that they are cooperating with FIFA’s Ethics Committee, which has expressed its commitment to a thorough investigation. In a recent communication, FIFA emphasized the importance of upholding ethical standards in football administration and assured that any confirmed violations would be met with appropriate measures.

A spokesperson for ZIFA stated, “We take these allegations seriously and are determined to uncover the truth. The integrity of our football administration is paramount, and we will act decisively if any wrongdoing is found.”

FIFA’s Ethics Committee, led by Chairperson Martin Ngoga, is expected to conduct a comprehensive review of the allegations. They have committed to engaging with relevant parties and ensuring that the investigation proceeds transparently.
