High Court has ruled that rape victims children and married women have a right to abortion.
In November 22 Justice Maxwell Takuva declared that section 2(1)of the Termination of Pregnancy Act[Chapter 15:10] “unconstitutional and invalid”.
According to specialist young mothers are at risk as a child will be delivering another child . Children at the age of 10- 14years are most likely to die compared to older women.
Human rights lawyer Tendai Biti stated that this initiative is a small victory and hopes it will close the chapter of child mothers in Zimbabwe.
