The executive chairman of ZESA Dr. Sydney Gata stated that next year load shedding will be a thing of the past.

Dr. Gata said that he is optimistic about the ongoing projects which will ensure that load shedding becomes a thing of yester years.

In his presentation, he expressed that he has been insulted so many times due to load shedding.

““Muviri wangu wese unochema maronda ekutukwa nenhau ye load shedding. Haaa varume ndasakara,” he said.

He also announced that Zesa is committed to  improve electricity supply to Zimbabweans.

“We have positioned ourselves to rectify all connection  backlogs and end load shedding by next year,” he said

A massive thermal power plant 720Mega watts and a 200mega watts solar project have been put in place to ensure the end of load shedding.

He highlighted that these project aim to end load shedding totally by December 2025.
