Minister of Home Affairs Leon Schreiber has extended Zimbabwe Exemption Permits upto 28 November next year.
This extension helps Zimbabwean nationals who had not yet applied for a new permit as the deadline for applications was today on Friday.
The government notice state that”… no holder of ZEP may be arrested, order to depart or be detained for purposes of deportation or deported in terms of section 34 of the immigration Act for any reason related to him or her not having any valid exemption certificate,”
The court found out that it was unlawful to terminate ZEP last year in June.
