Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) arrested Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Edwin Ndlovu and Mpumelelo Moyo on Thursday night for alleged demanding US$20,000 bribe from Chinese Investors.

The duo will appear in court on Saturday, ZACC spokesperson Simiso Mlevu said.

Ndlovu and Moyo allegedly demanded the money as a token for facilitating the approval of 5.6 hectares of land for a cement mixing plant by Labenmon Investments.

This comes after the Bulawayo City Council had turned down the company’s application initially for 10 hectares of land for the plant.

They were arrested soon after receiving trap money from Tsisi Mapfumo of Labenmon Investments.
