Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has denied being responsible for the prolonged arrest of his business partners Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu.
Taking to X, Chivayo distanced himself from Mpofu and Chimombe, describing them as “two incompetent idiots,” who were only once his teaboy and shoe polisher, not business partners.
The duo is being accused of defrauding the Government of US$7 million after they allegedly failed to supply goats under the Presidential Goat Scheme despite receiving payment.
“Ini ndini ndadii???. Pavaiba mbudzi dze nyika and participated in street light tenders I wasn’t there. These two incompetent idiots were never my business partners though I can confirm one was my tea boy and the other was my shoe polisher. @NewsHawksLive please be guided accordingly?, said Chivayo.
Wicknell has been accused of throwing Mpofu and Mike under the bus, in a bid to save himself and high-profile government officials involved in the US$100 million Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
