Newsday reports that former President Robert Mugabe’s son Chatunga Bellarmine, has been arrested for assaulting a police officer in Beitbridge.

This comes after he was stopped at a roadblock in Bubi at 0600hrs while being driven by a Chinese driver but was impatient when police asked for vehicle documents identification.

Chatunga allegedly grabbed a Support Unit officer by the collar and tore off his shirt buttons before brandishing a knife to his neck.

Meanwhile, the officer commanding Beitbridge Police District Chief Superintendent Mesuli Ncube confirmed the arrest but said he did not have details.
