LEAD Zimbabwe president Linda Masarira has called for ZEC chairperson Priscilla Chigumba to be investigated after being implicated in the US$40million tender scandal.
Taking to X, Linda said the scandal reveals the significant involvement of Justice Priscilla Chigumba, which warrants further scrutiny.
ZACC has totally ignored Chigumba and others in the ZEC fraud scandal focusing only on Wicknell Chivayo, Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe.
“Despite her key role in the scandal, Justice Chigumba has received minimal attention in media reports and public discussions”, she said.
Masarira said ZACC’s actions raises questions about the commitment of the Law Society, Judicial Service Commission, and the commision’s transparency and accountability.
“The Anti-Corruption Commission’s failure to include Justice Chigumba in their list of suspects, despite her position as a judicial officer entrusted with upholding high moral standards, casts doubt on the inquiry’s credibility”, she added.
