Zambians have reacted angrily to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s comments about Western favouritism towards Zambia and Malawi during his brief meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In the meeting, Mnangagwa told Putin that the United States is strengthening its military presence in Zambia.

Zambian politician Joseph Kalimbwe said Mnangagwa has insulted Zambia and falsely claimed that Hakainde Hichilema has sold Zambia to America.

He added that “It’s undiplomatic for a SADC President to call another President in such divisive ways. Zimbabwe must stop provoking our country !!!”
