Today, President Emmerson Mnangagwa failed to attend the Vapostori and MaZion for Economic Development (ED) National Convention in Chitungwiza.

He is represented by Vice President Kembo Mohadi who has arrived at the event.

The convention has brought together Vapostori and MaZion from different sects in Zimbabwe, including the Africa Apostolic Church, Mugodi AFC, Nguwo Tsvuku, Johane Masowe, National Apostolic Holy Ghost, Runyararo Rwevapostori, among others.

This annual convention is often seen as more of a political event than a religious one, with activities revolving around politics and support for Zanu-PF.

A video circulating on social media shows members at the event praising the country’s structured currency and stating that those who have a problem with it should leave the country.
