South Africa recalls diplomats from Israel over Gaza war

Minister in the Presidency Khumbuzo Tshaven says South Africa will recall its diplomats from Israel following the bombing of Gaza and the escalation of war.

This comes amid Israel’s intense air strikes on Gaza on Sunday night leading to the killing of 200 people.

South Africa expressed concern over what it says is collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza.

At least nine countries have withdrawn their ambassadors or severed ties.
