Nigerian police arrested at least 67 people who were celebrating a gay wedding in southern Delta Estate on Monday.
State police spokesman Bright Edafe said they stormed a hotel in Ekpan where the gay wedding was being held and initially arrested 200 people.
67 of them were later detained after initial investigations.
The Nigerian law banning gay marriage, punishable by up to 14 years in prison came into force under former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.
State police spokesman said homosexuality will never be tolerated in the West African nation.
