South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa has denied claims that he was supplying arms to Russian.

This follows a statement by the US ambassador to SA that Ramaphosa had loaded weapons onto a Russian ship that docked in the country.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ramaphosa expressed his disappointment at the US going public with the allegations.

He said it is disappointing that the US Ambassador has adopted a counter-productive public posture undermining constructive engagements between the two delegations.

Meanwhile, SA has to decide whether it will allow Vladimir Putin to visit as part of the BRICS summit after the International Criminal Court (ICC) released a warrant for his arrest.
