President Emmerson Mnangagwa has nullified a notice banning disclosure of procurement of health assets.

This comes amid massive uproar after the government gazetted the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act on May 5 2023.

In a statement, Dr Misheck Sibanda, the Chief Secretary in the office of the President and Cabinet, said the general notice 635 of 2023 is a nullity.

He said the notice has no legal standing as it has been published without Mnangagwa’s authorisation and without the signature of the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, as is the norm.

He added that the document should be disregarded as it has no standing at law, in policy and in terms of set Government procedures.
