Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Add has threatened to sue Qatar broadcaster Al Jazeera for defamation over claims made in the explosive documentary “Gold Mafia.”
In a statement through the secretary to the President, Nana demanded that Al Jazeera and its documentary investigative unit withdraw and retract the Gold Mafia documentary.
This comes after Ghana President was mentioned by one of the documentary’s subjects Alistar Mathias as his connection in corruption.
Mathias claimed Akufo-Addo was once his lawyer and he benefited from a US$100 million infrastructure contract in Ghana.
