Former Ntabazinduna Chief Felix Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni has called for the resignation of Chief Fortune Zephania Charumbira after his niece reported him to the police for sexually abusing her.

Writing on Twitter yesterday, Ndiweni said Charumbira, who is also the Pan-African Parliament president should step down.

Ndiweni said Charumbira’s case exposes the collapse of the rule of law in Zimbabwe as police are yet to arrest him despite sexual charges being laid.

He also criticised the Zanu PF government for failing to condemn Charumbura’s actions.

“Zanu PF gov does not come out defending and protecting women. Nothing to distance themselves from Chief Charumbira. That is why we say we need a new Civilian gov 2023”, he said.
