A 20 year old man Joseph Nyirenda, this week killed Detective Sergeant Loved any Madambi (39) in Figtree, 40km outside Bulawayo.

Circumstances
1. On the 07th day of October 2022 at around 0200 hours and at Figtree hotel, Lovedany Madambi stationed at CID West commonage, Bulawayo was in the company of number 087728F Cst Mzobanzi Mahlangu NR 41-089187 V41 a male aged 27 years stationed at ZRP Figtree drinking beer.
2. At around 0230hours Lovedany Madambi ordered the closure of the bar. This did not go well with the accused who approached Lovedany Madambi and a misunderstanding arose between them.
3. Suddenly the accused person stabbed Lovedany Madambi once on the left side of the chest and once on the right wrist with an unknown object.
4. As a result the Lovedany Madambi fell down and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
5. After committing the crime the accused person went outside the bar and disappeared.
6. Matter was reported to police and scene was attended by ZRP Figtree.
7. The following observations were made at the scene:-
 The body of the deceased was found lying parallel to the ground in a pool of blood.
 There was a deep stab wound on the left side of the chest and a cut on the right wrist.
 His mouth was wide open with clotted blood.
 The deceased’s body was at a distance of approximately 1 metre from the bar counter.
8. The weapon used to commit the crime was not recovered and the accused is at large.
